October/November Pause

Greetings and blessings to you all! As I write this, we are midway through September. Can you believe it? Every year I get older, the time continues to zoom by…

All the more reason I need to remind myself that all I have is today. I suspect that sounds a bit cliché, but it is the truth. Knowing there is a higher power, a loving God who has things in hand, that is reassuring - if I trust it. As humans, we really struggle with that.

Recovery author, Melodie Beattie from her book, The Language of Letting Go writes, “Sometimes, we experience times of frustration in our life. We believe we’re on track, trusting God and ourselves, yet things don’t work out. We have false starts and stops. The door refuses to swing wide open. We may wonder if God has abandoned us or doesn’t care. We may not understand where we’re going, or what our direction is. Then one day we see: the reason we didn’t get what we wanted was because God had something much better planned for us.” Such truth in those words…

We each have a story. A situation that we are prayerfully and patiently waiting on to get an answer. Perhaps we are unsure of our future or what direction to take. But what we can be guaranteed of is God walks with us IN THE MIDST! God carries us and consoles us. It is not truthful to say life will always be roses and butterflies. But it is with God’s care we can push through those difficult places. We can find solace and relief knowing God is with us now, today…God will and does provide. We are always covered, cared for, and deeply loved. That we can trust!

Grace & peace,
